[MIRIC]
THE COACHING PROGRAM
An aligned, powerful marriage of biblical truths and evidence based skills, tools, and practices.
Repositioning you to receive more of God’s truth, life and life more abundantly, embodied in your mental health journey.
Renewing of the mind, restoration of clarity, and the right dividing of the truth--so you can get back to actually living your life, walking out your purpose, and doing what God has called you to do.
A mental health diagnosis is not a truth or a lie to be feared.
Whether true or untrue, a diagnosis is a piece of information--the likes of which we then surrender (as we do all the rest) into the loving care of almighty ABBA (a name for GOD, biblically, that means FATHER). Whether we ever enter into a clinical treatment room or space, I hope this is true for you, because then nothing could stop your Father from responding to your needs. MIRIC was originally created for those who haven't entered a treatment room, are in one now, or have been wounded by treatment rooms and spaces. The COACHING version of MIRIC supports you in reordering your approach to first begin and remain aligned with the TRUTH, based on the God you serve and who He has made you as a result. MIRIC teaches you how to understand what the word of God has to say about your situation and experience and then how to apply the word of God in that area, based on yours and God's identities, with consistency and accuracy of integration: masterfully pulling in or working alongside clinical, familial, or other natural supports instead of depending on them in an unhealthy way--or allowing them to uproot God in the foundation of your heart and approach.
It’s my belief that, instead of accepting a reality of pain, confusion, suffering, distracted living, or impairment, God desires greater healing and deliverance for believers, even after a formal diagnosis. As believers, why should we settle for less than God’s best in ALL of our healing? Why should we believe God for deliverance only from spiritual and physical ailments and not mental/emotional/psychological ones?
Is anything too hard for God?
Do we believe our mental health is?
. . .
The Lord gave His life that we might have life and life more abundantly in Him, that we might be healed by His stripes, and that we might prosper in all things and be in good health even as our soul prospers. That we might have peace and joy instead of depression or anxiety, stability instead of dysfunction and instability, clarity instead of confusion, and enjoy newness of mind and life in liberty instead of bondage.
This is the gospel coming alive in our mental health journeys. This is the love of God wanting to be made manifest in our emotions, feelings, and thoughts and then in our consequent behaviors and quality of life.
The love and power of God extends to every ailment of the human condition—including mental illness and mental health symptoms. Including to traumas and disorders of every kind.
As a licensed Clinician, I am such a huge proponent of best-practice, evidence-based, and person-centered clinical treatment; It is an invaluable resource, and God has sent many of His children into these roles! As a coaching program, MIRIC is not only opposed to the integration of clinical treatment, but an advocate, referrer, and collaborator. The difference in the approach for a child of God, is in placing everything in its right order and remaining within the safety of the Word of God.
God desires to see more of His children walk in liberty in the truth of His word regarding their mental health: putting Him first in their treatment, receiving wise and informed counsel that helps them integrate tools and resources into and in alignment with the foundation of the word of God and principles of our faith.
We use what we understand about mental health to augment our efforts otherwise, but ultimately we exalt the promises of God about who we are, what we can have, and what we can do as the truths we stand on and identify with—not a diagnostic label or class of symptoms.
This program has been designed strategically to support our clients in learning how to partner with God to not just manage but achieve mastery over their daily lived experience of wellness and make the dream of a better quality of life despite mental illness/symptoms a tangible reality. MIRIC is so near to my heart as I had to walk this path myself despite a long history in clinical treatment. Despite significant mental illness, I saw my breakthrough doing it GOD'S way--it just never occurred to me God would use me to professionally help others follow a similar path.
